For GTK3 applications with Xfce, you must install x11-themes/gnome-themes-standard and change value of /Net/ThemeName property: xfconf-query -c xsettings -p /Net/ThemeName \ -t string -s Adwaita Or install x11-themes/clearlooks-phenix-theme (GTK and xfwm4 themes). Since GTK 3.10, new widgets have been added, especially GtkPopover, GtkFlowBox, GtkActionBar and GtkHeaderBar, which are not well displayed with GTK2 theme. In Xfce repository, we are ready to replace current default icon theme by misc/gnome-icon-theme.
