My concern in this regard would be whether the keyboard "knows" that the Fn key is supposed to be applied to the F<num> key, and not to the Ctrl or Alt key. If neither the Ctrl or Alt key is modifiable by the Fn key, I guess that might be a non-issue, but I'm pretty sure that (for instance) the Fn key on a ThinkPad is meant to be used with only one other key at a time.
