just to report a success story.
On 9.0-CURRENT #0 r202774, I've got
TL-WN851N
	http://www.tp-link.com/products/productDetails.asp?class=wlan&pmodel=TL-WN851N

working fine:

UMPY> ifconfig wlan0
wlan0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500

According to a reply I got from the manufacturer:
TL-WR851N: AR5416+AR2122

according to dmesg:

ath0: <Atheros 9280> mem 0x110000-0x11ffff at device 3.0 on pci0
ath0: [ITHREAD]
ath0: AR9280 mac 128.2 RF5133 phy 13.0
ath0: bb hang detected (0x80), reseting

which doesn't look the same (I briefly looked at the
atheros ar9280 pdf), but I'm an ignoramus.

Anyway, I now have a fully functioning sparc64 FreeBSD
desktop, including graphics, sound, and wireless.

many thanks to all those who contributed to fbsd sparc64 port!
