OK ... so if I'm understand that correctly the
/dev/da0s1a  /root
/dev/da0s1e  /usr
/dev/da0s1f   /var

constitute three different "filesystems" ??

I gather that I need to dump each of them individually ... does it matter
whether I address the "filesystem" as, for example,  "/dev/da0s1a" or
alternatively as "/" ??

At least some gurus who write documentation have some idea of making
the stuff halfway intelligible  ... Brian Somers doesn't have that problem &
Greg Lehey generally writes intelligibly but many of the others certainly
aim
only at others of their own level.
