Howdy peoples,

I have a problem when wanting to play audio cdroms.

I am trying to play a cdrom with numerous players such as xmms, grip etc.
However, when pressing play on (for example) xmms, xmms freezes up and does not
play. I have to give xmms a KILL signal (-9) a few times to kill the process.

I have checked /var/log/messages and found this:

Aug 12 15:41:33 hostname /kernel: acd0: PLAY_MSF command timeout - resetting
Aug 12 15:41:33 hostname /kernel: ata1: resetting devices .. done
Aug 12 15:41:44 hostname /kernel: acd0: PLAY_MSF command timeout - resetting

Aug 12 15:43:23 hostname /kernel: acd0: PLAY_MSF command timeout - resetting
Aug 12 15:43:23 hostname /kernel: ata1: resetting devices .. done

Any pointers as to why this could be happening ?

Thanks

 - Alex
