The install required 5mb to install. You may be better off installing on another machine. then swapping the disks. A custom kernel should be done for that machine, and that would be frustrating on that machine. moer reasons for disk - swapping. Get as much memory as you can. if it has 32pin ram, it's getting beyond usefullness.
