(There are no other activities on this SCSI bus by that time, the disks are on a different bus.) I can read a CD-ROM without problems. This is with 2.2-stable (built somewhere in September, as it looks), and with an AHA2940. Also, this drive doesn't respond to the audio channel volume settings specified in the CD audio mode page (the previous Plextor drive worked fine here).
