I have noticed that usb devices are "sometimes" detected not all the time. I have a jumpdrive and a usb printer which will only detect after I have booted and wait for "10 minutes". I know this sounds strange but I have tried this numerous time. If I leave the printer connected while its booting up, it wont detect my printer. If I place the jumpdrive or printer right after logging in, I get "addr 0 should never happen" error using usbdevs. I dont know why this is occuring. But like I said, I have to wait for 10 minutes before I can use it and that doesnt always work. Im on 5.1 and have made sure usbd_load="YES" is enabled in the rc.conf. I have also added ugen, mass, usb lines in my loader.conf. I have installed gimp-print, ghostscript and cups for my printer. Is this normal for 5.1? Should I upgrade to 5.2? Heres what I have for dmesg. Your help is greatly appreciated. Copyright (c) 1992-2003 The FreeBSD Project.
