I am having trouble changing the Ip address on a Nic card on my new 4.4
firewall box.

when i use /stand/sysinstall it generates the deltas in /etc/rc.conf but
the card still has the wrong ip address even after the reboot.

the box is a 166 pentium running 4.4 release, I 've disabled
sendmail, inetd and the only packages I've installed are bash
2.0.5,mutt,ssh,pine and cvsup.

The card is a intel.

I've checked rc.conf and ..../default/rc.conf where else should I
check?

And for some reason I can't search the question archive it won't even
find freebsd when I search.

TIA

John
