Only problem is that I get no audio from CDs played on an HP dvd1040d USB dvd writer. Some players (xmcd, xmms) refuse to try, but cdcontrol will spin up the drive and progress through the tracks at the right speed, but without a peep of audio. Grip will make files of (presumably) the correct file sizes very quickly, but they are all silent. Xmcd in debug mode produces the following error twice, but I may not have configured it correctly: SCSI CDB bytes (dev=/dev/cd0 rw=1 to=5 role=1): 0000 42 02 40 00 00 00 00 00 30 00 -- -- -- -- -- -- B.@.....0....... All SCSI peripherals are included though. Would the output of a verbose boot provide more useful information? -- Thanks, John.
