For the life of me I can't figure it out why that happens. I even tried to build and install ranlib but that still doesn't work. The sources and obj dir are NFS mounted. I tried to search FreeBSD archives but didn't find anything like this. And for the people who feel like saying "Read commit mail if you run -current", I can only say that I installed this box only yesterday so I haven't had much interest in -current commits before then.
