I do not know why everyone here seems to do this to me. At least, they are using your name instead of calling you something else. Also, many people prefer to be called by just their last name. In many, many situations, especially when I am asked for my name during pick-up basketball games, I simply just introduce myself as "Reed". And many of my best friends (for the past 15 years) simply use my last name. It seems natural for me, except when their parents or children use just my last name. Jeremy C.
