I too have installed FreeBSD (FBSD 4.3-BETA a few hours old) on my Inspiron 8000, and running XFree86 4.0.2 successfully. In Windows, one is able to connect an external montior, and have 2 screens at the same time, effectviely getting (1400+1400) x 1048 I think that's known as dual-head. Do correct me if I'm wrong. I am wondering if anyone tried to do this in XF86 4.0.2?? If yes, how?? It will be really really cool to get it to work. :-) And impress the hell out of my fellow workers!!! I know the Xinerama in XF86 4.x is supposed to make it realy easy, but I cannot seems to fnd any how-to documents at all. (PS: if anyone has the sound working?? do please let me know too. as far as I know, its a ESS Maestro, and currently not supported in FBSD 4.2) Thanks.
