I recently purchased a HP Pavilion dv6258se. I put 6.2 amd64 on it, and overall things are working well. I do have to boot with ACPI disabled or it freezes after seeing the harddrives. A few items aren't recognized - the Nvideo Go 6150 video (Although the default is working fine with X), audio and wifi. While audio would be nice, it's not that important.: none12@pci0:16:1: class=0x040300 card=0x30b7103c chip=0x026c10de rev=0xa2 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'NVIDIA Corporation' class = multimedia The wifi would be the handiest to get working. PciConf lists it as : none13@pci3:0:0: class=0x028000 card=0x1363103c chip=0x431114e4 rev=0x01 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Broadcom Corporation' class = network if I try ndisgen with the HP vista 64 drivers, it says it creates the bcmwl664_sys.ko without errors. However a kldload locks up the system, and then it reboots automatically. Nothing shows up in /var/log/messages Looking at the ndis sourceforge list, I found some hp bcm4311 drivers from XP64, which created a bcmwl564_sys.ko. This kldloads without a lockup/reboot but gives errors and doesn't work. ndis0: <Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN> mem 0xb320000 0-0xb3203fff at device 0.0 on pci3 kernel: ndis0: couldn't route interrupt kernel: device_attach: ndis0 attach returned 6 Can anyone point me in a direction to next try with the broadcom drivers? Thank you, Keith
