It's the only one that I have found, that would give me the said > options. Any ideas? Thanks.. Don't set your TERM environment variable to 'linux' when sitting on a FreeBSD console. The default 'cons25' terminal type is the correct one, and it can display colors. The backspace/delete issue can easily be solved with stty(1). You should really providing more information on what you 're trying to do. From your initial posting, I couldn't make much. You mention xterm, xterm-color, and linux terminals. Then you reply 'yes' when I ask "are you using 'linux' on the console"? I'm confused. What are you trying to do? And most importantly.. how? Be as detailed as you can.
