A new copy of mtrace written by Steve Casner (USC/ISI), and comes complete with manual page can be gotten from ftp://ftp.isi.edu/mbone/mtrace.tar.Z or we can wait for the new 3.5 version of the multicast routines to come out of beta. in either choice this problem report could be closed. --mark.
