Bill Trost (that's me!) writes: I just upgraded my laptop from -stable to -current, and I am now getting the dreaded "driver allocation failed" message for my GDS (NE2000) ethernet card. The card worked fine under -stable. Well bother! Someone rebooted my laptop, and when I went to investigate the problem, it wasn't there! I can find no differences between that boot and the most recent one. Weird stuff.... Well, thank you for your time....
