Sample cron line with no mail output: 0,10,20,30,40,50 * * * * /home/mydir/botchk >/dev/null 2>&1 The key is the ">/dev/null 2>&1" at the end - this will redirect your output to /dev/null, thus eliminating the spammed inbox.
