I've found the select() call in the kernel source, but I was wondering if there was a library call as a "front-end" to the kernel call ... I can't seem to find it. Also - does 2.2's select() support > 256 FDs out of the box? I've looked at the source briefly, set FD_SETSIZE to 1024, recompiled but it still doesn't work.
