As I might've mentioned to you, I recently updated snafu.muncca.fi from FreeBSD 1.1 to FreeBSD 2.0.5. Now I've had my first crash :( The cause is mb_map full error from kernel, and I do remember reading about it from somewhere but I can't remember how to fix it! And the mailing list archives aren't available... My kernel config file & a snippet from log are included below. # # SNAFU - snafu.muncca.fi i486DX2/66 32M 2x 1.2G IDE # machine "i386" cpu "I486_CPU" ident SNAFU maxusers 40 options INET #InterNETworking options FFS #Berkeley Fast Filesystem options NFS #Network Filesystem options PROCFS #Process filesystem options "COMPAT_43" #Compatible with BSD 4.3 options UCONSOLE #Allow users to grab the console options XSERVER #Include code for XFree86 options QUOTA #Filesystem quotas config kernel root on wd0 controller isa0 controller fdc0 at isa? port "IO_FD1" bio irq 6 drq 2 vector fdintr disk fd0 at fdc0 drive 0 controller wdc0 at isa? port "IO_WD1" bio irq 14 vector wdintr disk wd0 at wdc0 drive 0 disk wd1 at wdc0 drive 1 controller wdc1 at isa? port "IO_WD2" bio irq 15 vector wdintr disk wd2 at wdc1 drive 0 disk wd3 at wdc1 drive 1 device sc0 at isa? port "IO_KBD" tty irq 1 vector scintr device npx0 at isa? port "IO_NPX" irq 13 vector npxintr device sio0 at isa? port "IO_COM1" tty irq 4 vector siointr device sio1 at isa? port "IO_COM2" tty irq 3 vector siointr device ed0 at isa? port 0x280 net irq 10 iomem 0xd8000 vector edintr device wt0 at isa? port 0x300 bio irq 5 drq 1 vector wtintr pseudo-device loop pseudo-device ether pseudo-device log pseudo-device pty 192 ---------------------------- Aug 27 00:13:41 snafu su: count to root on /dev/ttyp4 Aug 27 00:14:27 snafu login: login from key.hole.fi as count Aug 27 00:17:54 snafu su: count to root on /dev/ttyp5 Aug 27 00:17:55 snafu login: login from lk-hp-5.hut.fi as temmi Aug 27 00:29:55 snafu login: login from noyfb as stefu Aug 27 00:35:06 snafu login: login from jytko.jyu.fi as ville Aug 27 00:35:43 snafu su: ville to root on /dev/ttyp5 Aug 27 00:43:06 snafu login: login from jytko.jyu.fi as ville Aug 27 00:59:58 snafu ntpdate[12624]: step time server 193.64.25.126 offset -2.234436 Aug 27 01:07:16 snafu login: login from pcuf.fi as dogo Aug 27 01:33:07 snafu login: login from noyfb as minsa Aug 27 01:38:24 snafu login: login from pcuf.fi as dogo Aug 27 01:38:42 snafu login: 1 LOGIN FAILURE FROM bullet.hole.fi Aug 27 01:38:42 snafu login: 1 LOGIN FAILURE FROM bullet.hole.fi, ville Aug 27 01:48:06 snafu login: 1 LOGIN FAILURE FROM noyfb Aug 27 01:48:06 snafu login: 1 LOGIN FAILURE FROM noyfb, speedy Aug 27 01:48:18 snafu login: login from noyfb as speedy Aug 27 05:54:20 snafu /kernel: mb_map full Aug 27 09:52:17 snafu /kernel: FreeBSD 2.0.5-RELEASE #2: Fri Aug 25 19:37:30 EET DST 1995 Aug 27 09:52:18 snafu /kernel: count@pc4.muncca.fi:/usr/src/sys/compile/SNAFU Aug 27 09:52:18 snafu /kernel: CPU: i486DX (486-class CPU) Aug 27 09:52:18 snafu /kernel: real memory = 33030144 (8064 pages) Aug 27 09:52:18 snafu /kernel: avail memory = 31371264 (7659 pages) -- Bror 'Count' Heinola # E-mail: # Network admin of muncca.fi Pengerkatu 13b A5 # count@snafu.muncca.fi # Count in IRC 00530 HELSINKI # count@key.hole.fi # "Is that lemon in your tea?"
