Linux has the utility called smbprint, but I haven't found a similar utility in the ports collection. Probably because I'm sure you can print without having to have that utility. > -----Original Message----- > From: Jeroen Ruigrok/Asmodai [SMTP:asmodai@wxs.nl] > Sent: Wednesday, April 07, 1999 4:46 PM > To: Milliken, Scott > Cc: questions@freebsd.org > Subject: RE: SMB Printing > > On 07-Apr-99 Milliken, Scott wrote: > > I'm trying to figure out just how to put an entry in /etc/printcap > > so that I can print to a Samba shared printer. > > If there is an FAQ that covers this, I'd certainly like to know where. > > I've checked the FreeBSD handbook and the www.freebsd.org web pages to > no > > avail. > > Dumb suggestion mayhaps, but have ye tried the obvious at www.samba.org? > > Other thought that hit me, dunno if I understood yer situation correctly, > would be to just print using IP to the printer.
