Any user account you create on your LAN, will be able to receive mail, apparently automatically, between LAN hosts. You're network is configured right as well as your sendmail.cf. However for those users to be able to be found on the Internet, depends on how you've set up your connection with you're ISP. - Do you have a registered domain? - Does you're ISP relay all mail addressed to your domain, or - Do you have one or more mail accounts at your ISP? You could check out: http://www.sendmail.org/ for some information. Also check out the FreeBSD handbook. rotan.
