I cannot compare it to Exim or qmail, because I've never used those (although qmail supporters tend to be extremely enthusiastic, so it must have something going for it). Compared to sendmail, postfix is easier-to-configure, relatively secure by default, and faster. I am not sure that sendmail has any advantages for users without legacy issues.
