One last thing that I forgot to ask, is how do you increase the limit of 8 characters to 12 characters for login id's. I do know that we will need to edit one of the source files for the kernal and recompile, it's just a question of which one and the variable/constant name :-) Our mail server is currently runs on linux and this is compiled in by default.
