A short while ago I acquired a refurbished Toshiba Tecra 550CDT laptop. While the modem and Ethernet ports don't work under Linux, the parallel and serial ports are functional. I would like to network the laptop and my desktop box using a LapLink cable. However, my main box has only one parallel port, and it would be dreadfully inconvenient to have to disconnect the printer every time I need to link my laptop to my desktop. I've seen PCI boards that add a second parallel port to a machine, but AFAIK they're Windows-only hardware. Has anybody been able to add a second parallel port to their FreeBSD box? If so, what hardware did you use (brand and model number will be much appreciated.) and how did you get FreeBSD to talk to the second parallel port? Thanks in advance. -- Matthew Graybosch http://www.starbreaker.net "Sartre was mistaken: Hell is not other people. Hell is maintaining other people's code."
