I have created /etc/exports:

/mnt/backups -alldirs [IP address of remote machine]

When I start mountd, I get an error in /var/log/messages:

bad exports list line '/mnt/backups': symbolic link in export path or =
statfs failed

df -Ph shows:
/dev/ada1p1 217G 89G 110G 45% /mnt/backup

The IP address is not a LAN IP, but the actual IP of the machine I =
intend to mount the NFS share on.
