Sender: owner-freebsd-mobile@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org While having a look through the XFree86 list archives, I came across a reference to the Trident chipset used in the Toshiba Satellite 1800-S253. Following the suggestions found there, I managed to get a working XFree86-4.1.0 server running on the notebook at 1024x768x16. Under the "Monitor" section, the following were needed: HorizSync 31.5-48.5 VertRefresh 55-90 and under the "Device" section, the following were needed: Option "NoINT10" VideoRam 8192 at which point "X -depth 16" started right up. Switching between virtual consoles appears to work correctly. APM suspend (with "apm -z") still fail to resume with the message WARNING: RESUME FAILURE. PRESS ANY KEY TO CONTINUE. and no related messages found in /var/log/messages. So far, working with 4.3-R: USB (Zip 100) Internal Ethernet XFree86-4.1.0 APM (monitoring, powerdown, suspend init) PCCARDs Not working yet: APM resume from suspend Sound/Audio Internal modem The latter two in this last list I can live without for now; I've gotten too used to APM suspend/resume, however, to give that up. Any assistance in where one might start to track this down will be appreciated. -- Gary Rafe grafe@eng.utoledo.edu To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-mobile" in the body of the message
