If xdm dies, tries to restart (it will try every 30 seconds as init will sleep) I=20 can drop to single user and disable xdm. The only problem with this is that I won't then be able to get X back without rebooting to securelevel -1. Correct me if I am wrong but all the documentation seems to suggest that the securelevel cannot be lowered even in single user mode? I am relying on xdm to be stable, which it does seem to be (I have used it at the default securelevel on other machines).=20 --=20 PGP: http://www.darklogik.org/pub/pgp/pgp.txt B776 43DC 8A5D EAF9 2126 9A67 A7DA 390F DEFF 9DD1 --wq9mPyueHGvFACwf Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (FreeBSD) iQIVAwUBQfmY6afaOQ/e/53RAQJKCRAAubOIVGGzegYJ7omrWfP6/OBKHll6NCdn pO+Os1+a/4mjE6pVxS9J0wR4mj7NkY3np/ab1O8ZVA4qpzbLKBxEk6Vg9+Q3CgQW ahQy4fdBF5qb9qox57qjSmURzEIvZXoGEDlxUJxVkPP0KDiNgam8VqECJZnFv9pW xF26vwq7cEaLmcIFNDI5pnmO8yrjPFwgPg68iY03Cu+MDEpLVvPOlkV3J1dhrxL4 8mcj0zFH9eGtMVk+WSKFdnCRHGNb/y/o5rxSMjGK1FbZbqmFl7nmU+tS0x9pZ14z KkPO54Psd29Z1nDNh+IxpQfphmHZVp+V/+k9seC8YXndXR4nnMhJU3Ioj9JTEal/ yUgLD7MbvKnVr7tV+yJs1iQpK1ULNS/HSAGin15SGB0PF4J8M10ntk88aQQOrrTe zCL5f6ZG2DnkIKF+aPqZxKvY35OAlzwKKckrw1GpzgwMj2jaaPN7AaDiHPKs/a2/ uR5NImxSym0Q+FlKuserYJ/0fvc1E/+/ebaexlo3rWyAM4V1sgO8mIOK2mXWBb/p /wooY51UtjP/kZuCgXx0aQNKlj9LWE2idv/tAyAo7fSfq+L253pYL2DnYb1wLyk7 7L8xpslB38RRDvDUurnCK1zrQJSUJ44Pfbo/MpXI6UUIqlxEUeAII4kWZMvuOe8t otgVVu31UmU= =wp+T -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --wq9mPyueHGvFACwf--
