Hi family, At the conception of Believers Hope Penpal Fellowship we were and still are convinced that no member should ever use our fellowship to solicit for money for any reason or ministry. This ministry is unique in that we come together solely to grow into spiritual maturity together. Nothing has more harmed the Church as the corruption caused by money. We agreed from the beginning that this fellowship would be self-supporting, and would not seek outside contributions. This has protected us in our work from accusations of the enemy that come even without reason. It is essential that we even prevent the appearance of finances being associated with God’s word. This is not a fellowship of wealthy believers. Many are struggling for each day’s provision, living one day at a time. This is a place for spiritual growth, not financial growth. We have over two thousand members at this moment. We could easily all have concerns and ministries that require funds. Besides, the Internet World has become a place of festering wickedness where false moneymaking scams are found everywhere. Throughout the year, I have received numerous emails from the African continent, and India, usually with an anonymous email host, like Hotmail, requesting money for orphans and the like. Some people have joined our fellowship with underhanded motives, and not to share with us as we grow spiritually in relationship with God. Their intent is to get email addresses of believers with good intentions, and solicit money from them. In this fellowship, no one’s ministry is more, or less, important than another’s. A personal note, nothing shames the Lords Name more than believers begging for money. There’s a time when each of us may be led to share with another, and perhaps even support a ministry or a church, but going out in the world like a street beggar for money is unacceptable. Is His arm too short, or is His power so weak that He needs us to beg? Let us take council from Paul and keep money at as much a distance as possible. When we do give, let it come from inspiration, and not from outside stimulation. Thank you, and God bless.
