Hello *, it appears GEOM prevents grub from mucking with the MBR and/or the next 15 or so sectors where it wants to write stage1 and/or stage1_5 (grub reports failed write attempts). Is there any way to let grub do its magic (other than installing 4.X without geom, patching grub, booting a 4.X fixit CD)? I want rope to shoot my foot!!!1! :-) Regards, Jens -- Jens Schweikhardt http://www.schweikhardt.net/ SIGSIG -- signature too long (core dumped)
