Don't the linux ioctl()'s come in elsewhere and get mapped? I'm pretty sure the upper bits in the ioctl function code have to be "right" so that stuff makes it across the user/kernel barrier. Uh, yeah, I just found it. Ick. Look at /sys/i386/linux/linux_ioctl.c for the horrible truth. I think this can be made to work. louie
