Current folks--

I'm having some major issues with pthreads. I have a base 5.2 =
cvsupgraded to 5.2.1. To save a lot of copying and pasting and keep =
this message from being too long, please check:

http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-hackers/2004-March/006393.html=

and
http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-ports/2004-March/010982.html

for more information that might give clues to some of the issues.

At someone's request tried the following (in =
/usr/ports/net/openldap21-client)

shocker1# make -VOSVERSION -VPTHREAD_CFLAGS -VPTHREAD_LIBS
502010
-D_THREAD_SAFE
-lc_r

Someone else suggested creating a /etc/libmap.conf with the following:

libpthread.so.1 libc_r.so.5
libpthread.so libc_r.so

None of this has worked, however. It was mentioned to me that "checking =
for pthread_create in default libraries" is supposed to be successful, =
so maybe something went wrong with my base system upgrade.

I have no idea, personally. Anyone that could help me out, it'd be much =
appreciated, as I'm pretty much barred from upgrading a significant =
number of my ports beause of dependencies on the ones that are failing.

If there's any other information that would be helpful, please let me =
know.

Thanks,
Jeff
