I upgrade instantly: - if this upgrade is absolutely necessary (security fixes are, for examp= le) - if the port in question is commonly used by me (say browser, email client, etc.) - any libraries on which ports being upgraded depends The big ones (say kdelibs) are upgraded only if necessary, the rest "as it happens" but usually it doesn't take long.
