I had a box like this for a week. With the pre2 patch the controller worked
when I changed the first scsi related option in the machine bios (not the
controller bios). I don't remember the option name, sorry, and I don't have the
machine anymore.

I had only a disk on it, and it seemed very stable: I run 100+ bonnie and some
crashme without problems, with the 2.0.34 kernel+ pre2 patch.
