And 1 of many things has happened: o a botched mergemaster(1) accidentally disabled cron. That apparently isn't it. o Somehow his /etc/periodic.conf got hosed and turned off the things he was used to seeing. o Perhaps he had used an alias on root's mail so that all of root's mail (including the output of the periodic scripts) went to his personal account. Maybe the jobs are still running, but he's not checking root's mail but expecting them to be in his own account. In this even, the alias is busted. o space aliens have infected his machine. :) -Jr -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= | John Reynolds WCCG, CCE, (space for rent, cheap!) | | Intel Corporation MS: CH6-210 Phone: 480-554-9092 pgr: 602-868-6512 | | jreynold@sedona.ch.intel.com http://www-aec.ch.intel.com/~jreynold/ | =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
