I have never seen this panic, and I have used WITNESS in my
kernels since I was first working on ithreads with Greg and
Jake months ago.

Well, I can still reliably lock up the quad xeon we have
for test hardware @ BSDi. :-(

Can you confirm that it works ok for UP?  That would _greatly_ help
to track this down if so.
