Off topic, but I think you do Beastie a disservice with comparing it to a Native American sports mascot. There are no daemons, that I know of, to take offense at an Operating System appropriating a stereo-typed image of their cultural identity. Native Americans, despite the efforts of the USA to exterminate their culture, are still around, and many do take offense when their cultural identity is appropriated and distorted in order to enhance the profitability of major league sports teams. Whether Native Americans can take pride in their own culture in the face of the mainstream treating their people as some sort of fun joke to accompany tailgate parties is an exercise best left to people of conscience.
