I am not sure why. I have not installed anything since setting up the box. But being a fbsd newbie I am not sure if I might have a problem. I saw that d is directory and l is link but no mention of c. and what is the 0x000000 all about ? I thougth /dev held device drivers for hardware ? thanks bd crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 14 Sep 19 12:53 wd1g crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 15 Sep 19 12:53 wd1h crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 0x0002000a Sep 19 12:53 wd1s1 crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 0x0003000a Sep 19 12:53 wd1s2 crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 0x0004000a Sep 19 12:53 wd1s3 crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 0x0005000a Sep 19 12:53 wd1s4 crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 0x00010012 Sep 19 12:53 wd2 crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 16 Sep 19 12:53 wd2a crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 17 Sep 19 12:53 wd2b crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 18 Sep 19 12:53 wd2c crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 19 Sep 19 12:53 wd2d crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 20 Sep 19 12:53 wd2e crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 21 Sep 19 12:53 wd2f crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 22 Sep 19 12:53 wd2g crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 23 Sep 19 12:53 wd2h crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 0x00020012 Sep 19 12:53 wd2s1 crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 0x00030012 Sep 19 12:53 wd2s2 crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 0x00040012 Sep 19 12:53 wd2s3 crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 0x00050012 Sep 19 12:53 wd2s4 crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 0x0001001a Sep 19 12:53 wd3 crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 24 Sep 19 12:53 wd3a crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 25 Sep 19 12:53 wd3b crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 26 Sep 19 12:53 wd3c crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 27 Sep 19 12:53 wd3d crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 28 Sep 19 12:53 wd3e crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 29 Sep 19 12:53 wd3f crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 30 Sep 19 12:53 wd3g crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 31 Sep 19 12:53 wd3h crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 0x0002001a Sep 19 12:53 wd3s1 crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 0x0003001a Sep 19 12:53 wd3s2 crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 0x0004001a Sep 19 12:53 wd3s3 crw-r----- 2 root operator 3, 0x0005001a Sep 19 12:53 wd3s4 crw-r----- 2 root operator 87, 0x00010002 Sep 19 12:53 wfd0 crw-r----- 2 root operator 87, 0 Sep 19 12:53 wfd0a crw-r----- 2 root operator 87, 1 Sep 19 12:53 wfd0b crw-r----- 2 root operator 87, 2 Sep 19 12:53 wfd0c To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
