I can mount the CD with mount_cd9660 -s 0 /dev/cd0c /cdrom after the first write, but it will not automatically (or otherwise) find the volume table after the first write. the same CD mounts fine on Linux and NT read-only CD readers, and the above command mounts the first write table just fine.
