I have something like that on my Acer laptop (Aspire 5672). Network drivers (wpi and bge) fails to attach unless I disable acpi. Unfortunately, acpi is necessary for other important things (thermal control, cpu speed control) so running without it is not an option. I have troed a lot of things to fix this (suggested by other people), but no luck so far. I think it is due to a bug in bios / acpi. More info about my laptop and FreeBSD here: http://tingox.googlepages.com/aceraspireas5672andfreebsd FWIW, the laptop runs Linux (Ubuntu) without problems: http://tingox.googlepages.com/as5672_xubuntu HTH -- Regards, Torfinn Ingolfsen Norway
