I had an interesting system hang yesterday on a machine running RELENG_2_2 from about two weeks ago (I've since upgraded to the post 2.2 sources to catch Justin's most recent adjustments.) What was interesting is that the activity LED from the 3940 was off, the system totally catatonic, but the tiny little fault led on the drive's pc board (i.e. labeled FLT - not the activity light) was glowing. This is a lightly loaded system and the same AHC code runs fine on nearly identical hw on a heavily loaded server. This drive was in a batch of 6 that we bought at the same time and has a noticeably louder seek noise (almost like those infamous popcorn poppers, the seagate medalist :) so I am wondering if the drive itself is not long for this world... -Chris
