I have just managed to install freeBSD 3.0. and now I plan to spend time to understand it ! The installation first did not work though, and I think this comes from the installation manual... I downloaded the files on my hard drive, under windows, but the install program could not find the ports I downloaded. That surprised me since I respected the instructions (found in the handbook and INSTALL.TXT): my files were on the primary partition, under directory C:\FREEBSD\ After trying (under DOS) to change the case of my directory names, I decided to put the files directly C:\ (that is, I moved C:\FREEBSD\bin I in C:\bin) And that worked ! I don't know if I missunderstood something or if the help files are not up to date, but I thought I could let you know !
