https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D228553 Bug ID: 228553 Summary: [change request] security/ca_root_nss: Patch to unblock non-root install Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Ports Framework Assignee: portmgr@FreeBSD.org Reporter: jwb@freebsd.org CC: ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org Created attachment 193769 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=3D193769&action= =3Dedit Unified diff The default option to create a symlink in /etc blocks installation as a non-root user. Attached is an example patch to have this default on only w= hen installing as root. There may be a better way to detect the installing use= r, but this patch does the trick. I'm experimenting installing multiple ports trees as a non-privileged user = both for development and testing purposes, and for deployment of static snapshots for long-term scientific studies that must use the same software version throughout. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.=
