There's a reason why ports are good, besides just making something
configure/compile cleanly on FreeBSD. The Ports Collection also has the ability
to install (for example) a script that will startup rc5des when you boot your
machine. Unfortunately, that didn't come with the FreeBSD tarball on d.net.

Additionally, the pkg_* utilities allow you to install/deinstall cleanly,
leaving nothing behind.
