Any chance you have `CheckAliases=True' in /etc/sendmail.cf? If so,
try turning it off; your system might be "hanging" trying to resolve 
the right-hand side of each alias through DNS. If not, try running 
`newaliases -on' to check the right-hand side of the aliases. You 
might also try `sendmail -bi' just in case newaliases got hosed somehow.

If this doesn't help, I would be happy to look at your aliases file(s).
