AMD64 has the dubious distinction of being the only recent machine where:

ints are 32 bit
longs are 64 bit
pointers are 64 bit

sparc64 and alpha are 64/64/64 there. I'll give hdf5 a shot - although fixi=
ng=20
libfpx is first ...
