I'd go for the Pentium 3 personally. It's a pretty solid processor, and the price difference between the P4 and P3 cannot currently be justified. Also, if your motherboard is recent enough, it should support the P3 (perhaps with a BIOS update). If you wanted to replace the motherboard and the CPU, I'd go with AMD, but that's without any experience with AMD on FreeBSD - others here may be able to enlighten you(us) on this.
