As Johan implied, this specific problem was fixed in 3.0.31 which was released by the Samba team last Friday. I've done this at two sites without mishap so far. No guarantees. Only tested on FreeBSD 7.0. There are probably other bits of the port that should have been patched but I've never dabbled in port creation/maintenance.
