Whoever that was, they sure had a lot more patience than I ever did. :-) OK, as one of the people who's had this happen to him...you (Pratibha) can recover from this condition a lot faster than that, if you're not too squeamish to remove the hard disk, power the machine on, and re-insert it (with the power on). Do at your own risk, obviously. There's a bunch of email in the mailing list archives about this, from me and other people. I only did this at my "home base", not "in the field"...I probably would have been a little reluctant to try this far from home. Once again, do at your own risk.
