The question still stays. Is there some party that already has the
code and you're negotiating with them or is just a call out for a code
donation?

I saw John Hixson's mail in the freebsd-hackers@ mailing list saying
he's working on SMB2/3 support in his spare time. Is this the code
we're talking about or yet another initiative?
